Getting started

You can browse Racing Car Network completely free, without an account. Browsing vehicles, jobs, services, switching currency — all available to anyone. You only need an account when you want to contact a seller, save favorites, list a vehicle, post a job or talent profile, list a service, or apply as a verified dealer.

30-second registration. Email, username, password — no credit card, no phone verification. You're logged in instantly and taken to your dashboard. Prefer Google? Sign in with one click — your account is auto-verified.

Forgot your password? Click "Forgot password?" on the login page — we email a reset link valid 24 hours. The whole flow stays inside Racing Car Network, never redirected to a generic WordPress login page.

Selling a vehicle

Listing is free for everyone — private sellers and dealers. No commission on sales: the platform connects buyer and seller, the transaction happens directly between you. Private sellers can upload up to 10 photos per listing; verified dealers up to 30.

Click the red "+ Sell" button — in the desktop header, or the central prominent button in the mobile bottom bar. The wizard walks you through:

  1. Pick the type — Race Car, Bike, Parts/Engine, Transporter, Accessories, or Sim Racing. Each unlocks the relevant fields.
  2. Choose a sub-category — GT & Endurance, Formula, Rally, Sim Cockpit, Wheelbase, etc. This decides where your listing appears.
  3. Add details — title, year, body, condition, transmission, fuel, drive, mileage, engine cc/hp, brand, VIN, stock number, registration date, colours, sim-racing compatibility, and specific features.
  4. Set the price — big amount on the left, currency selector on the right. Live conversion chips show what international buyers see. Tick "Price on application" if you prefer offers.
  5. Photos & documents — drag in up to 10 (or 30 for dealers) images, JPG/PNG/WEBP, max 5 MB each. The first becomes the cover. Add up to 10 documents for service history, FIA papers, inspection reports.
  6. Location — type the city or track, pick the right result. We geocode it automatically so buyers see a map. Accept the terms and submit.
Listings with rich descriptions and 10+ photos sell 4× faster. Use 1920px+ wide photos for the best gallery, write a detailed history, list modifications and recent maintenance.

After submission, the listing enters "Pending review". Our team checks within 24 hours for completeness and authenticity, then approves it. You receive a notification email when it goes live.

Jobs & Talent

Racing Car Network hosts a dedicated motorsport jobs board and talent directory at /jobs/. There are two entry types:

Hiring (job posting)

Teams, dealers and businesses post open positions: race engineer, mechanic, truckie, hospitality, driver coach, marketing, telemetry, sim driver — every motorsport role.

Available for hire (talent profile)

Drivers, engineers, crew and freelancers showcase experience, disciplines, location, willingness to relocate, and salary expectations.

Click "+ Post a job or talent profile" in the header, footer, or your dashboard. The form takes ~3 minutes:

  1. Type — pick "I'm a team hiring" or "I'm available for hire" (visual cards).
  2. Role & discipline — multi-select chips for the position(s) and the motorsport disciplines (F1, F2, F3, WEC, GT, Rally, Karting, Sim Racing…).
  3. Experience level — Entry / Mid / Senior / Pro level cards.
  4. Location — Leaflet map with geocoder search. Tick "Willing to relocate" if applicable.
  5. Compensation — Full-time, Part-time, Season, Race-by-race, Volunteer, Available for hire, Looking for seat. Add salary range if you want.
  6. Photo & document — logo / portrait + an optional CV/brochure PDF. Drag-and-drop, JPG/PNG/PDF, max 4 MB each.
  7. Description — career highlights, achievements, what you bring. Markdown supported.
  8. Closing date (jobs only) — listing auto-archives after this date.

Job postings include Google JobPosting schema — your listing shows up in Google's Jobs search box. Fill in salary range, location and employment type for maximum visibility.

All jobs and talent profiles live in your dashboard under Account → My Listings → Jobs & Talent, alongside any vehicle listings.

Services directory

The Services directory at /services/ is a curated marketplace of motorsport specialists: race prep, engine builders, gearbox houses, restorers, paint shops, transporters, driver coaches, telemetry analysts, hospitality, sim-racing coaches, insurance, storage.

Click "+ List a service". The form covers:

  1. Company name & tagline — a punchy one-liner sells you. Up to 80 chars.
  2. Categories & regions — multi-select chips so a "GT3 engine builder serving Italy + Germany + UK" shows up in 3 region filters and 1 category filter.
  3. Location — full address with Leaflet map + geocoder. Buyers see a map on your single page.
  4. Contact — phone, email, website, Instagram, Facebook. All hidden behind the in-app chat if you prefer; revealed at your discretion.
  5. Founded year & languages — show your experience and what languages you speak with international clients.
  6. Price tier — visual cards: € Budget · €€ Mid-range · €€€ Premium · POA. Helps buyers self-filter before contacting.
  7. Gallery — drag-and-drop multi-image upload, reorder by drag, choose the cover. JPG/PNG/WEBP up to 5 MB each.
  8. Documents — upload PDFs (price list, portfolio, certifications) with custom labels.
  9. Specialties — bullet-point list of what you actually do best.
Services include LocalBusiness schema with geo coordinates, opening info, contact and price range — Google and Bing index this directly, boosting your local search ranking.

Manage all your service listings under Account → My Listings → Services. Same actions as vehicles: view, edit, delete.

Managing your listings

All your content lives in your dashboard at Account → My Listings. A top sub-nav switches between three columns: Listings, Jobs & Talent, Services. Each tab shows its own counters and status filters (All · Active · Pending · Drafts · Trash).

Edit

Change any field of a live listing — title, price, photos, description, location. Changes appear immediately. All editing happens on the frontend — never sent to WordPress admin.

Mark as sold

Vehicle listings only. Stays online with a green "SOLD" banner. Search excludes it from active results. Unmark if the deal falls through.

Delete

Moves to Trash for 30 days, then permanently removed. Restore at any point during the 30 days.

Duplicate

Vehicle listings only. Clone as draft with all specs, taxonomies and gallery — perfect for selling multiple similar items.

The dashboard top counters show 6 KPIs at a glance: Active Listings · Jobs & Talent · Services · Total Views · Favorites Saved · Unread Messages. Each row shows weekly views, total views and favorites received.

After 30 days a published vehicle listing still active gets a friendly "Did this sell?" prompt. One click marks it sold (optionally with the final sale price for our public "Recently Sold" strip — helps build trust for other sellers).

Messaging & safety

On any listing, job or service page, click "Contact". A clean modal opens with a pre-filled introduction you can edit. You need to be logged in — if not, you're prompted with a quick log-in / register choice.

Before sending you must accept the Privacy Policy and Terms — the platform refuses to submit otherwise. The message lands in the recipient's inbox at Account → Messages with a real-time badge and an email notification.

Your email is never shared — neither is theirs with you. All communication happens in-app. Both sides see an avatar, name, and conversation thread linked to the original post.

Managing your conversations

Each conversation row in your inbox has a "⋮" overflow menu (hover or tap) with two actions:

Delete conversation

Removes the chat from your inbox only — the other person still sees it on their side until they delete it too. Sending a new message brings it back automatically.

Report as spam

Sends the conversation to our moderation team with the reason you provide. If confirmed, the abusive sender is blocked from messaging anyone on the platform.

Anti-abuse protections

The platform protects everyone with automated guards plus human review:

  • Rate limit — 30 messages/hour for private accounts, 100/hour for verified dealers.
  • URL spam detection — messages with 3+ links are auto-flagged for staff review.
  • Cross-spam pattern — if the same message is sent to 5+ different people in 24h, the system auto-flags it.
  • Email alerts — every spam report or auto-flag emails the admin team immediately.
  • Block enforcement — blocked accounts can read past conversations but cannot send any new messages anywhere.

If your account has been blocked by mistake, you'll see a red banner at the top of your inbox explaining why. Contact support with the conversation details and we'll review within 24h.

Favorites & saved searches

Tap the heart icon on any vehicle listing to save it. It appears immediately under Account → Favorites. Sellers see the favorite count for their own listings as a real-engagement signal — but never the names of the specific users who saved it (your privacy is preserved).

To save a refined search (e.g. "Formula 3 cars under $80,000 in Italy"), click "Save this search" on the results page. Manage all saved searches under Account → Saved Searches.

Becoming a verified dealer

If you sell race vehicles or motorsport services professionally, applying for verified dealer status is free and unlocks:

  • Verified badge on every listing, job posting and service
  • Up to 30 photos per listing (vs 10 for private sellers)
  • A dedicated dealer profile page
  • Priority placement in the Dealers directory
  • Higher messaging rate limit (100/hour vs 30/hour)
  • Bulk-listing tools (coming soon)

Apply via "Become a Dealer" button in your dashboard sidebar. Fill in your business name, VAT number, country, website, and a short description. Our team reviews within 1–2 business days and emails you when approved.

Rejection reasons are typically: invalid VAT, missing website, or business not motorsport-related. You can re-apply once the issue is resolved.

Trust & safety

Racing Car Network is built around four pillars to protect buyers, sellers, hirers and talent alike:

Staff moderation

Every listing is reviewed within 24 hours. Jobs, services and vehicles get individual checks for authenticity, completeness and motorsport relevance.

Verified badge

Staff can mark trusted services and job postings as "Verified" — a green checkmark appears on the public single page and search cards.

User-reported spam

Anyone can flag a conversation as spam. Reports go to staff with the full context. Confirmed spammers are blocked from messaging anywhere on the platform.

System anti-abuse

Rate limits, URL spam detection, cross-pattern detection. The platform auto-flags suspicious behaviour for human review.

What to do if something goes wrong

  • Fake listing — use the report link at the bottom of any listing, or contact us with the URL.
  • Pushy seller — use the "⋮" menu in your inbox to delete the conversation or report it as spam.
  • Job posting that smells like a scam — same as above. We block recruiters who ask for money to "process applications".
  • Unresponsive seller — listings inactive for 90+ days are auto-archived. If a seller goes silent mid-conversation, we don't intervene in transactions — but we'll flag them if it's a pattern.
  • Account blocked by mistake — a red banner appears in your inbox with the reason. Email support, we reply within 24h.

RCN never handles payments. All money changes hands directly between buyer and seller, outside the platform. Never wire money to someone you haven't met or whose vehicle/service you haven't verified.

Account & profile

Your profile lives at Account → Profile. From here you can change your name, phone, email, password, photo and bio. Email and password changes require entering your current password to confirm — protection if someone else has access to your device.

The password strength meter (Weak/Fair/Good/Strong) gives instant feedback as you type. Minimum length is 8 characters. We email you a security notification any time your password is changed.

Signed in with Google? Your password is managed by Google directly — change it via your Google account, not here. The button is hidden when we detect a Google sign-in.

Lost your password? From the login page click "Forgot password?", enter your email or username, and we send a reset link valid 24 hours. The reset flow happens entirely inside Racing Car Network — never the WordPress wp-login page.

Closing your account permanently

If you want to leave Racing Car Network, go to Account → Profile → Danger Zone. You can choose two outcomes for your active listings:

Delete them

All your listings, jobs and services move to trash and are permanently removed within 30 days.

Keep them online

Listings are reassigned to RCN administration — useful if you're stepping back but want a marketplace presence preserved.

To confirm, type DELETE in the confirmation box (case-sensitive). Once confirmed, profile, favorites, saved searches, messages and conversations are permanently removed. The action cannot be undone.

Racing Car Network is built around three privacy principles:

Buyers and sellers communicate via in-app messaging. Email addresses are never exposed unless you choose to share them in chat.

Self-hosted privacy-respecting analytics. No Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no programmatic ads.

Listings reviewed

Every new listing, job and service is checked by our team within 24 hours for authenticity and quality.

RCN is built mobile-first. On phones you get a clean top bar with logo + currency switcher, and a persistent bottom tab bar:
