1. Scope & acceptance
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website racingcarnetwork.com and all services, features and content offered by Racing Car Network (the “Platform”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
By creating an account, listing content, sending messages, or otherwise using the Platform, you (“User”, “you”) accept these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
These Terms apply alongside our Privacy Policy, Cookies Policy, and the Help Center guidance — together forming the agreement between you and Racing Car Network.
2. What we provide
Racing Car Network is a technical service provider connecting buyers, sellers, employers, talent and service specialists in the motorsport industry. We operate three distinct marketplaces, all free of charge:
- Vehicles marketplace — race cars, race bikes, parts, engines, transporters, accessories and sim-racing equipment.
- Jobs & Talent directory — open positions posted by teams and dealers, plus talent profiles published by drivers, engineers, mechanics, crew and other motorsport professionals.
- Services directory — listings for race preparation, engine builders, restorers, painters, transporters, driver coaches, telemetry specialists, sim coaches and other motorsport service providers.
We are not a party to any transaction between Users. We do not buy, sell, broker, escrow, transport or guarantee any vehicle, job, talent placement or service. All transactions, contracts and payments happen directly between the Users involved, outside the Platform.
We do not handle payments. We never request or process credit-card details, bank transfers, escrow deposits or any form of money exchange between Users.
3. Your account
Some features (publishing content, contacting other Users, saving favourites, applying as a verified dealer, opening a support chat) require an account. Registration is free.
You may register with an email + password, or sign in via Google. By registering you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding contracts in your jurisdiction.
- The information you provide is accurate and up to date. You must update your profile if details change.
- Your account is personal and non-transferable. You may hold only one account at a time.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
If you suspect unauthorised access, change your password immediately and contact us via the in-app Support channel.
We may suspend or close accounts that have been inactive for 24 months or longer, after notifying you by email.
4. Listings, jobs & services
Registered Users may publish content across the three marketplaces. By submitting content you authorise us to display it on the Platform and to make it accessible to anyone visiting Racing Car Network.
Vehicle listings
- Up to 10 photos for private sellers, 30 for verified dealers. JPG/PNG/WebP, max 5 MB each.
- Up to 10 supporting documents (PDF / image, max 10 MB each) — service history, FIA papers, inspection reports.
- Listings stay live until you mark them sold, delete them, or until 12 months of inactivity (after which they may be auto-archived after an email notification).
- You may publish unlimited listings provided each represents a real, distinct item you have the right to sell.
Jobs & talent profiles
- Two entry types: “Hiring” (jobs posted by teams/companies) and “Available for hire” (talent profiles).
- Jobs include a closing date — listings auto-archive at that date.
- Talent profiles must describe real, verifiable experience. False credentials are grounds for immediate removal and account suspension.
Service listings
- Each service must represent a legitimate, operational business or activity.
- Up to 12 gallery images and 5 documents (price list, portfolio, certifications).
- Services may display a “Verified” badge — granted at our discretion after staff review.
All published content is subject to staff moderation, typically within 24 hours. We may reject, edit or remove any content that violates these Terms, our content guidelines, or applicable law.
5. Content responsibility
You are solely responsible for every piece of content you publish on the Platform — vehicles, jobs, talent profiles, services, messages, profile information, gallery images, documents.
By publishing content, you represent and warrant that:
- The content is accurate, not misleading, and complies with applicable consumer-protection law.
- You own or have a valid licence to publish every image, document and text included.
- The content does not infringe any third-party intellectual-property rights, trademarks, privacy rights or contractual obligations.
- For vehicle listings: you have the legal right to sell the vehicle and the right to transfer good title to the buyer.
- For job postings: the role is real, the employer is legitimate, and you comply with applicable employment and anti-discrimination law.
- For services: the business is operational, properly registered where required, and authorised to provide the services advertised.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Racing Car Network from any third-party claim, loss or cost (including reasonable legal fees) arising from content you have published.
6. Messaging & conduct
The Platform provides an in-app messaging system. Email addresses are never exposed between Users — all communication goes through the in-app chat.
When using the messaging system you agree to:
- Be respectful in tone and content.
- Not send spam, mass messages, identical solicitations to multiple Users, or unsolicited commercial offers unrelated to a specific listing.
- Not use the Platform to circumvent Racing Car Network — e.g. by directing buyers to off-platform deals immediately after first contact in a way clearly designed to avoid moderation.
- Not request or send credit-card details, bank credentials, ID copies or other sensitive personal data via chat. The Platform never asks for these.
- Not harass, threaten, defame or discriminate against any User on grounds including but not limited to race, gender, nationality, religion, age or sexual orientation.
We apply automated anti-abuse measures including rate limits (30 messages/hour for private accounts, 100/hour for verified dealers), URL-spam detection, and cross-pattern detection. Messages that trip these thresholds may be auto-flagged for human review.
Other Users may report your conversations as spam directly from their inbox. Confirmed spam results in a messaging block on your account — you can still read past conversations but cannot send new messages anywhere on the Platform.
You can delete conversations from your own inbox at any time. The deletion is one-sided: the other party still sees the conversation until they delete it themselves.
7. Verified dealer status
Verified dealer status is granted free of charge to legitimate motorsport businesses. Application requires:
- Registered business name and VAT (or equivalent tax) number
- Country of operation
- Business website
- A short description of your activity
We review applications within 1–2 business days. Approval is at our discretion. Verified dealers receive: a verified badge on every published item, higher photo limits (30/listing), priority placement in the Dealers directory, and a higher messaging rate limit.
We may revoke verified status at any time if a dealer breaches these Terms, attracts repeated user complaints, or no longer meets the verification criteria.
8. Prohibited use
You may not, directly or indirectly:
- Publish content that is illegal, fraudulent, deceptive or misleading.
- Publish vehicles you do not own or do not have the right to sell — including stolen vehicles, vehicles encumbered by undisclosed finance, or vehicles whose VIN/identity has been tampered with.
- Publish job postings that ask candidates to pay any fee, deposit or “application processing charge”.
- Publish content that promotes hate, violence, discrimination, sexual content, weapons, drugs, gambling, or any activity unrelated to motorsport.
- Operate or attempt to operate scripted, automated or scraped access to the Platform — including but not limited to bots, crawlers, scrapers, and headless browsers for the purpose of harvesting Platform data.
- Re-publish, redistribute, mirror or aggregate Platform content (listings, photos, descriptions, contact information) on any other website, database or service without our prior written consent.
- Reverse-engineer, disassemble, decompile or otherwise attempt to derive source code from the Platform.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to Platform systems, other user accounts or backend infrastructure.
- Use the Platform to launder money or facilitate any transaction prohibited by law.
Violation of any of the above may result in immediate content removal, account suspension or permanent termination, and where appropriate, referral to law-enforcement authorities.
9. Moderation & blocking
We operate a multi-layer moderation system to keep the Platform safe:
- Pre-publication review — every new listing, job posting and service is reviewed by our staff within 24 hours.
- User reports — any User may report a conversation as spam, or report a listing as fraudulent. Reports are routed to our moderation team.
- Automated detection — the system auto-flags suspicious patterns (rate-limit breaches, URL-heavy messages, cross-spam to multiple recipients).
- Verified badge — staff may award a “Verified” badge to particularly trusted services and job postings.
If your messaging is blocked or your account is suspended you will see a notice in your inbox explaining the reason. You may appeal in writing via the support channel within 30 days; we will respond within 5 business days.
For severe breaches (fraud, hate speech, sexually-explicit content) we reserve the right to suspend accounts without prior warning.
10. Intellectual property
Racing Car Network — including its logo, branding, design, code, database structure, search filters and editorial content — is the intellectual property of the operator. Nothing in these Terms transfers any of those rights to you.
The content you publish remains yours. By publishing it on the Platform you grant Racing Car Network a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, display, reproduce, adapt (for format/resolution), and make accessible the content to Platform Users and search-engine crawlers — solely for the purpose of operating, promoting and improving the Platform. This licence terminates when you delete the content, except for backup copies retained for the periods set out in our Privacy Policy.
You may not extract, scrape or reproduce the Platform’s database or any substantial part of it without our prior written consent.
11. Privacy & data protection
Your personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms. Key principles:
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not use third-party advertising trackers (no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel).
- Email addresses are never shared between Users.
- You have the right to access, rectify, port and delete your data at any time.
The Platform is GDPR-compliant and uses self-hosted privacy-respecting analytics.
12. Warranty & liability
The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant that:
- Listings are accurate, complete or up to date — these are the responsibility of the User who published them.
- Other Users’ identities, qualifications or claims have been verified beyond the basic registration check.
- The Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of viruses or other harmful components.
- Any transaction concluded between Users will result in a successful outcome for either party.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Racing Car Network shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profit, loss of data or business interruption, arising from your use of the Platform — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising under or in connection with these Terms shall not exceed EUR 100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
13. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time via Account → Profile → Danger Zone. You may choose whether your active listings (vehicles, jobs, services) are deleted or reassigned to Racing Car Network administration.
We may terminate or suspend your account, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, abuse the Platform, or if required by law. We will notify you by email where reasonably possible.
Termination does not affect any rights or obligations that accrued before termination, nor any provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including content licences, indemnities, liability limitations and governing law.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time — for example to reflect new features, regulatory changes or operational improvements. Material changes will be notified by email to registered Users at least 14 days before they take effect.
If you continue to use the Platform after the effective date, you are deemed to have accepted the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, you must stop using the Platform and close your account.
15. Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Italian law, with the application of mandatory consumer-protection law of the country where the User has habitual residence not affected (Art. 6 of EU Regulation No. 593/2008).
Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Pordenone, Italy, unless a different competent court is mandatory under applicable consumer-protection law.
EU consumers can also use the European Commission Online Dispute Resolution platform.
