The engine has an aluminum small block and cylinder heads, an intercooled Roots-type supercharger, a dual fuel-injection system, a forged steel crankshaft, forged powdered-metal connecting rods, forged aluminum pistons, a hydraulic roller tappet camshaft, and a dry-sump oil pan.
