Description
The Dallara GP2/05 represents one of the purest and most exciting ways to experience modern single-seater racing. Built for the inaugural GP2 Series, the official feeder championship to Formula One, it combines a lightweight carbon fibre monocoque with a screaming 4.0-litre Mecachrome V8 producing around 600 horsepower. Offering approximately 95% of the sensation of a contemporary Formula One car, yet at a fraction of the running costs, the GP2/05 has become a highly sought-after machine among collectors, historic racers and track day enthusiasts. This race-ready example has recently benefited from comprehensive engine and gearbox rebuilds and is eligible for prestigious series such as BOSS GP, making it equally suited for competition or a distinguished motorsport collection.

KEY FACTS
This striking purpose-built single-seater, the Dallara GP2/05, represents an important stepping stone towards Formula One and is eligible for prestigious race series such as BOSS GP.
It is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre Mecachrome V8, producing up to 600 horsepower at 10,000 rpm, driving the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential paddle-shift gearbox.
This chassis was newly built in 2005 to compete in the inaugural GP2 Series, the official feeder championship to Formula One, which was renamed the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2017.
Both the engine (invoice available € 45.000,-) and gearbox (invoice available € 8.739,31) were comprehensively rebuilt approximately 500 kilometresago, and the car has since been carefully maintained in race-ready condition.
The odometer reportedly shows approximately 500 kilometres since the rebuild, although this reading cannot be warranted.

SERVICE HISTORY
The most recent maintenance was carried out in May and June 2025. The gearbox was professionally rebuilt by LRT in June 2025, while the Mecachrome V8 engine was serviced and rebuilt by Nardi Compressori in May 2025.
We advises that, depending on usage, Mecachrome generally recommends a complete engine rebuild every 4,000 to 5,000 kilometres.
