Description
This Porsche flat-six was originally built for a 1974 3.0L RSR. The motorsport-specific M911 crankcase is equipped with 3.2L cylinders and pistons, as well as a rebuilt Bosch mechanical fuel injection pump. Notable components include the high-butterfly intake system, magnesium oil filter case, fiberglass engine shroud, and twin-plug ignition system. 3.0L RSR crankcases are made of aluminum, and the head bolt spacing is specific to the RSR pistons and cylinders. larger-diameter 3.2L pistons and cylinders are currently installed. The crankshaft received new main and countershaft bearings during the rebuild. The piston rods were balanced and installed with new bearings and ARP rod bolts. A new 3.2L Carrera oil pump was also installed for reliability, and all 24 head studs were replaced.
