Description
This S38B35 inline-six and Getrag 265 5-speed manual gearbox were removed from a 1985 BMW M635CSi race car acquired in 2017. The gearbox is a Metric Mechanic-built “Ultimate” Getrag 265, and the engine was reportedly built in the early 1990s by Ken Adair of The Power Plant. It was rebuilt in 2008 and 2012, after which the previous owner is said to have retired from racing. Modifications include an increased displacement of 4.0L, Schrick 272 camshafts, European-spec exhaust headers, and more.
