Description
This 427ci V8 is #128 of 427 examples released in 2008 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the introduction of Chevrolet big-block engines. Acquired the engine in 2008 and dressed it with the factory-supplied Holley carburetor as well as an air cleaner, exhaust headers, pulleys, a belt, a fan and clutch, a starter, and a flywheel for display in the seller’s office. The engine is based on the late-1960s all-aluminum ZL1 block, uses the same tooling, and features a forged rotating assembly, oval-port aluminum cylinder heads, and a matching oval-port aluminum intake manifold. It utilizes a hydraulic roller tappet camshaft and is designed to run on 92-octane pump fuel.
