This 1.6-liter flat-four and four-speed manual transaxle were recently removed from my now sold 1965 Porsche 356 race car. The engine case originated in a 1968 912 and was reportedly built by Jeff Gamroth at Rothsport Racing of Sherwood, Oregon in 2018. Modifications include 40mm Solex carburetors, ACE cylinder heads, a Pertronix distributor, a large-capacity oil sump, a Kennedy Engineering clutch and lightweight flywheel, and a stainless steel exhaust system. The Type 741 gearbox was refreshed by 356 Enterprises of North Branch, Michigan in 2016 and features custom gearing for long-track road racing. The engine have less than one hour of race time, while the transaxle saw four race weekends.   Asking price $15,000
