This Type 911/53 flat-six engine and five-speed manual transaxle were originally produced for use in a 1973 Porsche 911S. The engine was rebuilt in 1979 with 2.2L 911S pistons, and about a decade later, the engine was installed in a 1970 Porsche 911T. Carrera-specification timing chain tensioners were installed in the mid-to-late 1990s. Acquired the 911T in 1998 and removed the flat-six and transaxle for long-term storage.
