Description
This Fuhrmann four-cam Porsche engine was previously fitted as a replacement motor in what is believed to be the last Porsche 356 Carrera 2 produced, which was acquired approximately ten years ago. The engine was rebuilt to 587/3 specifications by Stoddard in the mid-1970s using a blank Type 693 crankcase, a plain bearing crankshaft assembly, 904-specification camshafts, and twin Weber 46 IDM carburetors. It saw a few thousand miles of use following the overhaul and was removed from the aforementioned 356 Carrera 2 after my acquisition. The engine was placed into storage before being tuned and tested by Speedsport Tuning (SST) in anticipation of sale.
