History

Avon's motorsport history spans Grand Prix supply eras, but its modern institutional role is historic racing's tyre authority: period-correct crossply ranges (the ACB9/ACB10 families shod on 60s-70s single-seaters and sports racers), treaded historic patterns for pre-war through 60s GT grids, and radial ranges serving later historic categories — with series regulations (HSCC, HGPCA, Masters and marque championships) writing Avon fitments into their rulebooks as spec or controlled-choice rubber.
