History

Chevron answered the 2-litre formula's aero turn with the B19 (1971): the B16's architecture opened to the spyder configuration the class's development demanded — the FVA-powered customer fleet fighting the European 2-litre Championship's golden wars (the Lola T212 rivalry's season-long arguments, Redman-and-Hine-era drives), the Springbok series' South African summers (the B19's overseas campaigns the marque's export chapter), and the customer careers the run armed — with the B21's 1972 evolution (the aliases' companion designation) continuing the line's development toward the B23-B26 generations.
